Norman graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1993 with a Master of Science Degree (M.Sc.) in Communication Disorders – Audiology and in 2007 he earned a Doctor of Audiology Degree (Au.D.) at A.T. Still University in Arizona. Norman has been an active practicing Audiologist since 1992 and became a private practice clinic owner in 2005. He is currently the co-owner of Sense of Hearing Canada, with 14 locations in Ontario.

Heidi Ludwig

Heidi obtained a Doctorate of Audiology from Syracuse University and a bachelor's degree with honours in Speech and Language Sciences from Brock University with additional studies as a Communicative Disorders Assistant. Heidi completed her fourth-year audiology externship with Hearing Evaluation Services of Buffalo where she gained a wealth of knowledge regarding selection and fitting of a variety of hearing aids. Heidi has worked in the past as an Infant Hearing Screener, a VNG technician, and a Cochlear Implant Technician and brings experience testing both adult and pediatric populations and vestibular assessment. Before joining us, Heidi worked as a clinical audiologist at Watertown Audiology in Watertown, NY, and has been with Sense of Hearing since 2020.

Laura earned her B.Sc in biology from the University of Western Ontario and joined us in 2015 as a front office manager while completing her audiology application. She was inspired to continue into hearing healthcare after growing up with a brother with hearing loss. She earned her Masters of Science in Audiology from Dalhousie University and is a registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-language Pathologists of Ontario. She re-joined our team in 2019 and she currently works at our St. Catharines location performing audiological assessments and prescribing, fitting and verifying hearing instruments for adults and children. Laura is passionate about improving people's quality of life through hearing healthcare.

Carolina Castaneda

Carolina earned her Bachelor's degree in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Rosario and later obtained a Master's Degree in Audiology from Iberoamericana University in Colombia. With extensive experience in both hospital and private clinical settings since 1987, she also possesses a strong background in university environments. Since moving to Canada in 2001, Carolina soon became a clinically certified member of Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). She joined the SOH team in May 2010 and works full-time at our Oakville location. Her expertise includes comprehensive audiological assessments, hearing aid evaluation, fitting and verification, Extended Wear Hearing Aid Fitting (Lyric), and earwax removal. Carolina is deeply committed to patient care and consistently strives to provide the best possible outcomes for her patients. Outside of the clinic, Carolina is an outdoor enthusiast who finds peace and inspiration in nature, particularly while watching the sunrise and sunset. She also maintains an active lifestyle as a dedicated enthusiast of Zumba, paddle boarding (SUP) and pickleball, enjoying the high energy, music, and community/nature connection these activities provide.

Elka Gold brings nearly 20 years of experience in hearing healthcare, with a strong background across diverse clinical and hospital settings. She holds a Master of Science in Audiology from Dalhousie University and is a registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC). Elka practices full-time at our Etobicoke location, where she provides comprehensive audiological assessments and specializes in the prescription, fitting, and verification of hearing aids and assistive listening devices and earwax removal. She is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of patient-centered care. Elka has been a valued member of the Sense of Hearing team since 2010.

Jessica Cekan

Jessica earned her Master of Clinical Science (Audiology) from Western University's School of Communication Sciences & Disorders. She has previously completed both an honours Bachelor of Science degree at Wilfrid Laurier University (majoring in Health Sciences) as well as the Hearing Instrument Specialist diploma program at Conestoga College. She received her first pair of hearing aids at age 18 and since then has been enthralled with the subject of hearing healthcare. Jessica's goal is to help others open up a lifetime of improved communication as they navigate the initial audiological assessment and subsequent treatment stages while incorporating a hearing loss into their personal and family identity. Jessica joined the Sense of Hearing team in July 2019 at the Stoney Creek location.

Nina earned her Masters of Clinical Science (Audiology) from Western University's School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She completed her undergraduate studies at McMaster University, earning an Honours degree in Cognitive Science of Language. She also holds a certificate in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Brock University. Nina works at our Burlington location performing audiological assessments and prescribing, fitting and verifying hearing instruments for adults and children. Nina is passionate about patient-centered care and enjoys building meaningful relationships while guiding individuals through their hearing-health journey.

Cynthia completed her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences degree followed by her Master of Clinical Science degree in Audiology at Western University in 2020. She is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and has been practicing in the Niagara Region ever since. Cynthia currently works at our St. Catharines location performing audiological assessments and prescribing, fitting and verifying hearing instruments for adults and children. Cynthia looks forward to helping her patients understand their hearing loss and guiding them in their treatment options. She is passionate about providing individualized care and creating a warm and welcoming environment for all patients.

David has been serving the Port Credit community since joining Sense of Hearing in February 2012. He is committed to providing his clients exceptional hearing healthcare services in a warm and welcoming environment. Creating and building meaningful relationships is equal to providing comprehensive audiological assessments, hearing aid evaluations, fittings, verification and servicing. David has received additional certification to provide treatment for Tinnitus and is sought after for his safe and effective earwax removal services.

Julie joined our Sense of Hearing team in the fall of 2014 working at our Guelph location. She then worked full-time at our Waterdown location until Fall of 2022. Julie has now returned to our Guelph location full-time. She completed the Hearing Instrument Specialist at Conestoga College.

She previously earned her honors Bachelor of Science degree at McMaster University, studying in the Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour department. Now working as a Hearing Instrument Specialist at our Mississauga Central location.

Kelly Gadreau joined the Sense of Hearing team in February 2014 bringing with her 18+ years of experience in customer service and office management. Prior to joining Sense of Hearing Kelly spent 11 years working in the Developmental Services sector managing a group home and providing daily support to youth with mental and physical disabilities. In September 2017 Kelly enrolled in the Hearing Instrument Practitioner program at Grant MacEwan University. Since graduating from the program in 2019, Kelly has been working as a Hearing Instrument Dispenser at our Welland location.

Yayi's journey began in Cuba, where she earned her degree in English Language and Literature and spent a year teaching at the University. Upon moving to Canada, she specialized in Medical Office Administration and then brought her skills to a bustling Medical Centre, starting as a receptionist and later managing referrals for over 20 family doctors and 10 specialists. Since joining Sense of Hearing in 2016, she has made significant contributions, excelling in patient care and clinic operations. While working, Yayi pursued further education and recently graduated from the Hearing Instrument Specialist program at MacEwan University. She is now the Hearing Instrument Specialist at this new Brampton clinic. Her commitment to professional growth and client care continues to enhance the quality of our services.

With over 15 years in the medical device industry, Dmitry brings a wealth of knowledge spanning hearing care, optical, and mobility. Drawing on his dual background in clinical practice and leadership, he is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care tailored to individual needs. Dmitry completed the Hearing Aid Practitioner program at Grant MacEwan University and is a licensed and AHIP-registered Hearing Instrument Specialist. Based at the Guelph clinic, he partners closely with his patients to enhance their communication, hearing performance, and overall quality of life through personalized, ongoing support. Outside the clinic, Dmitry enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys, often dedicating his weekends to coaching their soccer and baseball teams.

Winta graduated with Honors from George Brown College in 2025 as a Hearing Instrument Specialist. She has participated in hearing aid donation initiatives supporting underserved communities in Eritrea and the Dominican Republic and previously worked in PEI before joining Sense of Hearing in 2026.

Gouthami joined Sense of Hearing in May 2026, working between our Hamilton and Stoney Creek locations. She completed the Hearing Instrument Specialist program at George Brown College and holds a Master of Science in Audiology and a Bachelor of Science in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from Osmania University, India. She gained hands-on experience through her co-op at Sense of Hearing, supporting hearing screenings, hearing aid fittings, follow-ups, and client counseling. Before moving to Canada, she served as a Clinical Supervisor in the Audiology Department at Helen Keller's Institute in India, mentoring students and supporting patient care. She is passionate about helping individuals improve their communication and confidence through personalized, patient-centered hearing care.

She then graduated from the CDA program at Georgian College (Barrie) in 2025. Through her studies she developed an interest in audiology and wished to pursue CDA work within the audiology field.

Kimberley graduated from Humber College in 1987 with a Developmental Services Worker diploma. Kimberley worked with special needs individuals of all ages (primarily adults). Kimberley later worked in customer service for approximately 12 years before joining Audia Hearing Aid Centre in 2002. Audia Hearing Aid Centre (Oakville) was sold in November 2006 to Montcalm Audiology & Hearing Aid Services (rebranded to Sense of Hearing in 2012). Kimberley has also completed a Small Business Management Certificate Program. Kimberley continues to provide administrative and office management support for our Oakville clinic location. Kimberley provides the Marketing Support, Marketing campaigns and Media presence for all Sense of Hearing locations.

She really enjoys seeing patients on their hearing care journey and seeing the difference it makes in their lives.

Rosa brings with her over 10 years of customer service experience, and is currently our Office Manager at our Etobicoke location. She has been with Sense of Hearing since 2018.
