If you experience any of these, a hearing test can help identify the cause. Adults over 50 should have their hearing checked every few years as a baseline.

OHIP covers hearing tests for children under 18 and adults over 65. Adults aged 18 to 64 need a physician referral for OHIP coverage. Without a referral, a private-pay hearing test is available at all Sense of Hearing locations. The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) also provides up to $500 per ear for eligible Ontario residents purchasing hearing aids.

Your first visit typically takes about 60 minutes. Your Audiologist &/or Hearing Instrument Specialist will review your hearing history, examine your ears, and conduct a series of painless hearing tests in a soundproof booth. Afterward, they will explain your results in plain language and discuss any recommended next steps. There is no obligation to purchase anything at your first visit.

Our Audiologists &/or Hearing Instrument Specialists are trained in pediatric assessment techniques and use specialized equipment designed for younger patients.
